About Painter Creek

Painter Creek Marina is located on beautiful South Holston Lake in Bristol, TN.  We are conveniently located 10 miles North of Bristol Motor Speedway and 10 miles South of Exit 17 off I81 in historic Abingdon, VA  .South Holston Lake is number 1 in a chain of TVA owned lakes with 168 miles of shoreline at the foot hills of the Appalachian Mountains. The lake is located in two states: TN and VA.  The lake borders Bristol, TN and Abingdon, VA with the background of the Majestic Holston Mountain. Water lovers of all ages can enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, picnicing, and sightseeing on South Holston Lake.

Painter Creek Marina has been in existence since 1954, and has been family owned and operated by the same family since 1972. We pride ourselves on customer service. In 1999, we embarked on a renovation to better serve our customers. We presently have 300+ wet slips for houseboats, fishing boats, pontoons, and jet skis.

We have public restrooms and a floating picnic area. We also have pontoon rentals, TN fishing license, a boat ramp, public parking and a ship store. 

The ship store sells bait & tackle, boating & fishing supplies and accessories, soft drinks, beer, ice, grocery items, picnic supplies and gas. We accept VISA, Discover, Mastercard, and American Express.
